Come join our marketing team as the Public Relations Specialist and take your career to a level unattainable in a traditional bank environment! The Public Relations Specialist will be the driving force behind shaping the Bank's brand reputation. You will be responsible for creating and executing innovative PR campaigns that engage audiences and drive the Bank's mission forward. This role will be pivotal in enhancing the Bank's presence in Florida and nationwide.

The Public Relations Specialist position is a hybrid position that, while primarily performed remotely, requires a presence in our key markets to effectively perform job-related duties.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Press Releases- Identify and spotlight newsworthy stories and opportunities for media coverage. Identify industry trends to leverage for PR purposes. Assume primary responsibility for fact-checking and securing appropriate reviews and approvals for content to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
  • Influencer and Partnership Relationships- Source influencers to build large scale brand visibility, promote brand trust and loyalty. Create high-level metrics based on influencer content that go beyond the typical likes, follows, and shares. Cultivate relationships with Bank partners (such as 1% for the Planet, B Corp) to develop content and media opportunities that attract new audiences.
  • Thought Leadership- Cross-functional collaboration with leadership team to showcase our best work, all-star people, and company as thought and market leaders. Identify appropriate recognition opportunities including individual and company awards.
  • Strategy and planning- Produce and execute comprehensive PR strategies aligned with company goals and objectives. Develop and maintain a PR content calendar to ensure consistency.
  • Media relations- Build strong relationships with future partners of media coverage and the key players in the banking and sustainability world.
  • Analysis- Report on results and impact, including contributions to a monthly department report.
  • Content Creation- Create compelling, persuasive content, to effectively communicate key messages and promote the Bank's initiatives (press releases, insights, blog posts, and opportunities to strengthen our reputation within the industry).
  • Crisis and Reputation Management- Develop and implement a communication plan to address potential PR issues effectively, protect and defend the Bank's reputation, and maintain transparency through success and challenges.


Specific Requirements:


  • Strong track record of PR for rapidly growing businesses.
  • Experience with financial institutions preferred.
  • Passion for sustainability, the environment and social justice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field strongly preferred but other fields of study and relevant experience can be considered.
  • Ability to develop and execute PR campaigns that align with overall business goals.
  • A portfolio-a plus.
  • A network of media contacts in Florida (and nationwide a plus!).
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Experience managing ad-hoc PR challenge preferred.
  • Ability and excitement to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, value-driven environment.
  • Candidates must be excellent and effective communicators with the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals. Exceptional verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • Resourceful, detail oriented and an extremely organized self-starter.

Physical Demands:


  • Sustained standing and sitting.
  • Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor.
