2nd Shift Line Lead M-F 3PM-11:30PM

PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all employees in the department. The Team Leader is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is done safely, meets all quality requirements and is manufactured in a timely manner. The Line Lead will also assist the Supervisor in the training, development and coaching of the employees in the department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety - Practice and enforce all safety procedures, use of PPE, safe machine operation and material handling, helps to create a culture that minimizes safety hazards, train the operators to report all accidents, any near miss accident and potential hazards.
  • Quality - Ensure all work instructions are followed. labels are correct and up to date within the first hour of production. Ensure that all Supervisor's/Manager's instructions are carried out including quality alerts training, maintain an inspection frequency throughout the shift.
  • Machine Utilization - Maximize the machines utilization according to the target by ensuring minimum downtime because of operator breaks, material shortages, and monitor tracker for cycle times.
  • Scrap- works close with the injection molding techs, give fast solutions to minimize the scrap rate, makes sure that all scrap generated on shift is taken to the grinding area.
  • Standard work- Ensure operators have been trained according to work instructions/bill of material, that work instructions are posted at the workstation and is adhered to.
  • Training - Assist with operator training.
  • Labels control- Will have access to the label cabinet; responsible for providing assembly stations with correct labels for product being manufactured.
  • Assembly Set-up; Changeover assembly station, to include, assembly fixtures, at completion of work order, return unused inventory to storage.
  • Supply production lines with material required in 1-hour intervals.
  • Perform direct labor tasks as required. Fill in for operators on break covering a minimum of four breaks.
  • Assigns work to operators to meet production schedule.
  • Flexibility to work outside of your normal work hours including Saturday as needed to support team members and/or area objectives
  • Provide meaningful, timely feedback to Supervision/Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

E d uc a t i o n :
  • High School Diploma/ GED required


W ork E xp e ri e nce :
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience.
  • Prefer 1 or more years' experience in area of responsibility.


S kills & K n o w l e d ge:
  • Able to use/learn Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Able to use/learn SAP or similar software.
  • Ability to be trained & operate a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) preferred, but not required.
