Medical Document Coding Analyst

KLDiscovery, one of the largest national eDiscovery providers, is currently seeking experienced medical coders who desire an engaging work environment where they are valued and respected for upcoming Cyber Incident Response projects.

Medical Document Coding Analysts will review medical records such as patient charts, billing, and insurance documents for Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) using various electronic review platforms. This position is project-based and successful candidates will be considered temporary contingent employees.

Position Details

• Remote, reviewers must reside within the United States.
• Pay rate: Starting at $22 per hour
• Duration depends on the project; opportunities vary from 1 week to 6 months; possibly longer.
• Must be able to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week between 9 AM ET and 5 PM ET/8 AM CT and 4 PM CT.
• Overtime may be available based on individual project demands, at the discretion of the end client.

Requirements & Qualifications

• An associate degree or equivalent is required.
• An Electronic Health Records Specialist Certificate (CEHRS) or a similar professional coding certification is desired.
• Minimum 1 year of medical records coding experience.
• An understanding of ICD-10, CPT codes, billing codes, and medical terminology.
• Experience reviewing and coding medical records, patient charts, billing, and insurance documents.
• Maintains required standard of performance in both coding accuracy and productivity.
• Participates in coaching, training, and education as necessary.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• An ability to retain and follow complex work direction.
• An ability to accurately track and enter hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An optimistic approach to all tasks and responsibilities.
• High proficiency in the use of modern technology, especially computers, and related remote work office equipment.
• Experience in electronically reviewing documents using our various review platforms including Relativity, Canopy, and Nebula is preferred but not required.
• A secure home office with high-speed internet access and a Mac or PC with Windows 10 or newer operating system is required. A second monitor is strongly recommended.
