About the Mission You Will Join:

Embark on a career putting innovative, reliable, and agile solutions to DHS. VMD Corp is seeking a Director, Business Development for the federal civilian portfolio of programs. The ideal candidate will develop the business unit's strategy in support of the Chief Growth Officer, deploy those strategies across the customer sets, and craft plans to facilitate technical differentiation, to enable effective marketing & sales and bid & proposal activities. The Director, Business Development will provide direction on the sustainment and organic growth of existing business development targets/programs as well as developing and leading the future business capture strategy in space systems and adjacent markets. This position will work closely with a team of functional and program professionals as well as other industry and government partners.

Your Impact to the Mission:

  • Customer relationship management/interfacing, briefing/white paper preparation and delivery, proposal development, and developing/delivering executive-level briefings.
  • Translating customer needs into specific requirements, identifying/tailoring company services and solutions into offerings, and managing captures to effectively market the business unit's products and capabilities to meet those needs.
  • Overseeing all aspects of business development activities for the fed civ customer set, including developing and executing growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, establishing pursuit priorities, gaining and growing customer intimacy, and developing successful capture plans.
  • Leading or supporting pursuit and capture efforts and assisting Proposal Managers with the development of proposals to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for procurements across their customer space.
  • Broad, strategic thinking concerning emerging customer needs, competitive positioning, requisite capabilities, and the tactical moves necessary to enable the company to capture opportunities in the market

Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 4 years experience with program management, customer management, capture, and/or business development.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal civilian systems.
  • Knowledge of the Fed Civ acquisition processes.
