• 22-bed Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit (CMICU)
• Patient population includes:
  • Organ system failure (respiratory, cardiac, renal, liver, etc.)
  • Post cardiac arrest / targeted temperature management
  • Life threatening arrhythmias
  • Sepsis
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis
  • GI bleed
  • Overdose
  • Covid
  • Mental Health/Self Harm
  • Paralytics/Prone Therapy
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Pacing (external, transvenous)
• Patient and family education is a focus throughout the patient stay
• Advanced Cardiovascular Training
  • Designated rooms within CMICU for CVICU patients
  • Specially trained CVICU RNs recover open hearts directly from the OR
  • Recover transcatheter aortic and mitral valve repairs/replacements
  • Epicardial pacing
• Nurse/Patient Ratio 1:2 unless 1:1 for acuity
• Multidisciplinary team coordinates care of the critically ill patient (Nursing, Physicians, Pharmacy, Dietary, Care Management, Therapies, Ethics, Pastoral Care, etc.)
• Intensivist coverage 24/7
• 24/7 Leadership support

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
