Machine Operator-2 - Full-time

Description of Job:

Checks work order for size and adjusts saws to specifics for set-up. Receives 2 ply on conveyor belt from sander, slides into machine, measures lengths and widths, checks thickness with calipers. Document daily production - manually, changing saw blades, certified lockout/tag out, use of small hand tools. Make adjustments as needed to ensure boards stay in spec. Rotate to other positions, other duties as assigned, including duties in other departments.

Requirements:

• Read/interpret job order and HWPW customer specifications
• Knowledge of plywood construction, including components
• Perform multiple visual checks of the product
• Must master manipulation of sheets to prevent damage/rework
• High attention to detail and fast paced
• Knowledge of species, cuts and matches preferred
• Read a tape measure, use calipers
• Frequent lifting, twisting and bending
• Frequent lifting up to 30 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
