Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work out of Norris Dam Knoxville, Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, equipment such as graders bulldozers scrapers, excavators, front-end loaders.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Must be able to locate utilities and other buried lines prior to trenching.
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to loading & unloading materials, trenching, backfilling, rough grading & finish grading.
• Perform and record equipment inspections daily in Fleetio.
• Perform minor servicing & maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep machines cleaned & maintained.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to follow verbal & written instructions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must have the ability to read and follow construction blueprints.
• Must possess skills, coordination, & awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision & efficiency.
• Must have 2 - 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Must have the ability to take instruction & directions from the site Foreman & provide support to other onsite personnel.
• This position does involve some travel, must be willing & available to travel.
