Family Law Attorney

Terrific opportunity for experienced family law attorney looking for a new home. We are in need of an attorney with 3+ years of family law experience. The firm would consider a more experienced attorney such as a solo practitioner with a book of business who is looking for an established firm to associate with and wants to have excellent support for operations, marketing, and accounting/invoicing, etc. The firm is well-managed with experienced and tenured staff in place.

This position can be up to fully-remote, though the Firm maintains a physical location in Fairfax near the courthouse.

Requirements:

1. Strong work ethic, strong critical thinking skills, a genuine desire to learn, and a team-focused attitude.

2. First or second chair experience with cases involving custody, visitation, equitable distribution, spousal and child support. In the alternative, a demonstrated interest in trail practice based on law school record, activities, and interests.

3. Must be admitted to practice law in Virginia; DC a plus.

Demonstrated competence in research and writing is required. Typical cases are divorce, custody, visitation, modifications of existing orders, and contempt proceedings. The firm handles international custody matters such as claims brought under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Parental Abduction and the International Child Abduction Remedies Act.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Please indicate salary requirements in your cover letter. Typical salary range for candidates with this level of experience is $120-$150k with production bonus opportunities available above that for motivated individuals.

·      1,400 annual hour requirement for billed and collected hours at minimum.

• Judicial clerkship a major plus.
