Accounting Clerk - Seasonal

Spring Meadow Nursery Inc. is currently seeking a detail oriented team player to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a flexible schedule or currently in school, starting in January through June.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable/Billing

• Assist with processing customer credit applications
• Process packing slips/bills of lading/freight prices
• Prepare and send customer invoices
• Assist with processing and applying customer payments
• Accounts Payable
  • Process and enter carrier freight bills & other vendor invoices
  • Assist with monthly credit card statement reconciliation

• Fixed Assets
  1. Assemble and organize accounts payable invoices for fixed asset support
  2. Reconcile fixed asset invoices to general ledger

• General Office Duties – Mail and filing as needed

• Projects - Complete various accounting projects as assigned

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office – (Word, Excel, etc.); experience with Microsoft NAV a plus
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Organized and accurate with attention to detail and an aptitude for numbers
• Effective problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage time efficiently

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business or relevant coursework completed toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business; An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 20 pounds.

Performance Requirements:

• Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
