Fuel and Propane Service Technician

Overview:
Safely and efficiently perform diagnostics, repairs, installations, and maintenance, on diesel, gasoline, and propane tanks and related components. This position requires strict safety compliance, mechanical aptitude, a positive customer service attitude, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and a can-do mindset.

Essential Duties:

• Diagnose problems and repair Diesel, Gasoline, and Propane systems including but not limited to piping, regulators, pumps, gauges, meters, etc...
• Effectively utilize a Windows tablet with Microsoft and other Service software
• Maintain accurate documentation of all product inventory and billed services.
• Maintain positive relationships and communication with customers and teammates.
• Safely operate a crane or pickup truck in both on-off road conditions.

Other Duties:

• Occasional yard/shop/warehouse/office upkeep
• Various truck/equipment maintenance projects

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL class A or B with a clean driving record. Hazmat, Tanker, Manual Transmission, and Air Brake endorsements required.

Experience:

• Demonstrated history of mechanical aptitude required.
• Two (2) years CDL driving experience preferred, minimum one (1) year required.
• One (1) year Hazmat experience is preferred (bulk oil, Refined Fuels, LP, Chemical, or equivalent) but not required.
• Truck-mounted crane operation experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical ability: following training and support, you can diagnose/repair problems, and can relay/document problems/repairs that need follow-up to your teammates and the office.
• Basic Windows computer fluency, and ability to use Microsoft Outlook email, and either an Android or Apple company phone.

Reasoning Ability:

• Critical Thinking Skills: When confronting a problem, a willingness to ask questions, gather relevant information, think through solutions and conclusions, consider other options, and make decisions based on the results.
• Situational Awareness: Knowing where you are and what is going on around you, staying alert and informed as your environment changes, and making decisions based on that information.
• Problem Solving: Must utilize facts and experience to resolve problems, in some cases without the immediate assistance of others.

Physical Demands:

• Safely navigate uneven ground on foot, including in rain, mud, snow, and ice.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and stretching.
• Pulling out up to 150 feet of fuel hose.
• Frequent climbing in and out of truck.
• Pushing/pulling of other equipment/objects as required
