Overview

• Part-time (0.6, 48 hours per two weeks). This position is primarily evening shift (1400-2230), occasional days and overnights. Every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Pay range: MLT: $25.74 - 32.41 per hour

MLS: $31.14 - 41.19 per hour

Bonus:

$5,000 at hire, $5,000 on anniversary date to max of $15,000 total.

Responsibilities

Follow the Lab's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Participate in Proficiency Testing Program. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problem or immediately notify the Lab Manager, Lead Lab Tech, Technical Supervisor, or Clinical Consultant. Recognizing lab equipment malfunctions. Answering inquiries about test results, methods, specificity, sensitivity, and specific factors that can influence test results. Adhering to federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines. (OSHA, CLIA)

Qualifications

Have earned a Bachelor Degree in Laboratory Science or any Biologic Science or Chemistry or graduate of a Medical Technologist Program from an accredited institution. Must be MT/MLS eligible for certification and obtain MT/MLS Certification/Registration within one year of employment if not certified/registered.

OR

Have earned an Associate Degree in Laboratory Science of Biology or Chemistry or a Medical Laboratory Technician Program from as accredited institution. Must be MLT eligible for certification and obtain MLT Certification/Registration within one year of employment if not certified/registered.

Must be certified, registered and/or licensed with one of the following: ASCP, HEW, HHS, ASMT. Must be able to travel to other work sites as needed with own transportation. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or will be certified within six months of hire. Certified in Packaging and Shipping Division 6.2 Materials.
