Preschool Teacher 2 at the Pagosa Springs Elementary Head Start

Sign-on bonus of $500 for new hires getting a CDA within six - nine months and working an additional three months of successful employment. The offer is for external new hires only.

Preschool Teacher 2:  Full time, part-year; 36 hours a week from August to May. Summers off. Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 3:45 PM and Friday 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

This position serves in a classroom to provide an appropriate social and emotional environment to expand children’s ability to learn, grow, and build trusting relationships. This role works in a classroom-based setting with typically and atypically developing children and provides daily supervision and support for children’s developmental needs. Positions may be reassigned to various classrooms/centers for program operations.

The hourly wage ranges from $15.31 - $21.72 depending on education level and experience.

The minimum requirements for this position are;

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Willing to obtain CDA within six - nine months of hire. Tri-County Head Start will provide opportunities for training support to obtain a teacher’s qualification, including CDA support and coaching.
  • Previous experience working in early childhood with children ages birth through five years preferred.
