POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for all technical and engineering aspects for assigned projects. The Sr Project Engineer works to establish criteria for proper implementation of all the technical elements of projects in collaboration with corporate and manufacturing site personnel. Provide guidance to the project manager and team throughout the project lifecycle.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge:

  • Substantive technical, project management, customer liaison experience, gained over time within the organization.
  • Experience in development and implementation of project control processes.
  • Facilitate and encourage objective analysis of alternative points of view and be able to articulate the strengths and weaknesses of various business opinions to reach an informed decision.
  • Leverage business insight to communicate highly technical information to ensure understanding across the business.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong, proactive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and critical thinking skills alongside dedication to continuous improvement.

Level of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years proven experience in project engineering.
  • Medical device experience is beneficial.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience working with global teams.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, Mechanical or Biomedical highly preferred.
  • Any additional Project Management Certifications will be considered an advantage.

Travel:

  • As required based upon program and project needs.
  • 3-5 days per month on average.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.

  • Collaborates with project managers and a cross-functional team to determine engineering and technical needs.
  • Establishes relationships with stakeholders, team members, and affected parties to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in the development of project plans, project capital and expense budgets, and product cost estimates.
  • Anticipates areas of risk and proactively defines mitigation strategies.
  • Analyzes production materials, methods, and equipment to provide recommendations to optimize financial benefit, timelines, and production efficiency.
  • Defines and develops the testing, verification, and validation strategy with project managers and production plant personnel.
  • Coordinates with engineering and operations across all company sites to ensure accurate and timely analysis, planning, and execution of project tasks.
  • Resolves emergent problems and crisis situations requiring fast, astute decisions and rapid implementation with effective teamwork.
  • Manages third party resources for external testing.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant standards, technical documentation, and best practices.
