High Level Statement of the Role:

Provide leadership and execution at the department level that ensures profitable results and customer satisfaction including, but not limited to, proper QC procedures and efficiency. Works alongside the shop floor employees.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Drive process improvements to achieve operational excellence.

· Assigns employees to specific jobs based on their abilities to preform required tasks

· Mentor and develop Shop Floor employees within the organization working alongside the Production Manager, Production Team Lead, Packing QC and Department Trainers.

· Understand, support and execute the achievement of performance measures related to the projects, both current and upcoming

· Ensures all work instructions are available and being followed.

· Ensures all preventive maintenance is being performed by working alongside the maintenance team

· Ensures customer quality levels are achieved based o0n work orders

· Provide input for resources and departmental planning to the organization.

· Proactively communicates across the organization on business issues and opportunities.

· Create and sustain a productive and positive working environment by developing people and maximizing flexibility.

· Share best practices with upper management

· Participates in leveraging available resources across the organization to manage cost structure.

· Able to balance customer and company needs.

· Follow all safety, GMP’s and food safety guidelines.

· Ability to recognize and be in compliance with facility guidelines on physically ill employees, hygiene, personal appearance and proper attire.

· Basic training of employees in packing and QC processes by assisting the Department Trainers (i.e. Proper GMP’s, proper packing, proper identification of lot codes and other training as specified by Production Manager and Director of Food Safety and QC)

· Operation and knowledge of machinery and set up processes and maintain capability of production including but not limited to, loading, feeding, preventive maintenance and training.

· Attend daily Production Meetings and take notes on upcoming projects and have knowledge of completed projects for discussion
