We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and repairing various types of equipment and systems within a facility. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.


Requirements:

The Maintenance Technician conducts routine and scheduled inspection and maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems of company by performing the following duties:

  • Performs duties as directed from preventative maintenance work order.
  • Refers to manufacturers equipment manual and prints for specific detail not listed on work order.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine, equipment, and vehicle parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings. Replaces or repairs machine belts.
  • Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
  • Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and terminates wire.
  • Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
  • Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of water, and drainage systems.
  • Oversees outside contractors work on grounds, building structure, heating, electrical, facility lighting, fire suppression, and security.
  • Performs repair to equipment, machinery, and vehicles as directed.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions, such as standing, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Fork Lift certification preferred
