Leading Edge Equipment is searching for a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Service Manger based in our Devils Lake, ND dealership. As part of our team, you will manage service operations within the dealership to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes. Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control. Supervision of Service Foreman, Service Writer, Service Technician, and John Deere Tech Students.

What you’ll focus on:

  • Manages service operations within the dealership to maximize return on investment by optimizing Service Department processes to ensure employee and customer satisfaction
  • Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department according to their skills and knowledge
  • Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Ensures that all service warranty claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
  • Attracts, retains, and assists with development of department personnel
  • Collaborate with marketing manager on service department goals
  • Assists with the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staff
  • May participate in John Deere training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • All other duties as assigned

What we need from you:

  • 2+ years of experience in supervisory role (Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Supervisor, etc.)
  • Ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics
  • Experience communicating effectively to individuals and groups
  • Knowledgeable operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to use standard John Deere applications, Microsoft Office, and internet functions
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting internal reports
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Even better if you have (although not required to apply):
    1. Experience in the agricultural, heavy equipment, or related industry
    2. Experience using Service Advisor or other computer based diagnostic repair tools
