Job Description:

We are currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Millwork Drafter to join our growing team. As a Millwork Drafter at Veteran Wood Creations, you will play a crucial role in bringing our design concepts to life by creating accurate and comprehensive millwork drawings. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for precision, and a desire to contribute to high-quality construction projects, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate millwork drawings.
  • Generate comprehensive material lists and specifications for millwork components.
  • Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, building codes, and project requirements.
  • Review and incorporate feedback from project stakeholders into draft designs.
  • Work closely with the production team to address any design-related issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and technologies to contribute innovative ideas to the design process.
  • Create fabrication drawings for the shop to build.
  • Explain drawings to the shop for understanding as needed.
  • Manage fabrication drawing schedule and coordinate with shop manager as well as other teams.
  • Be involved in subcontracting production drawings as needed.
  • Use other software such as, Bluebeam, Procore, Innergy, Smartsheet.
  • Identify problems, gaps, issues before sending production drawings out to production.
  • Engage with other team members.
  • Maintain mobility of work by being persistent, respectable, precise and goal oriented.
  • Improve work and come up with ideas on how to have better results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Mechanical engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Millwork Drafter or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as cabinet vision, fusion 360, inventor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
  • Knowledge of woodworking materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
