As a Landscape Supervisor, you will have the unique opportunity to oversee our landscape department's maintenance, construction, and implementation.

 


Responsibilities:
  • Supervision of the ground maintenance operation, involving planning, scheduling, staffing, training and disciplinary action for the department.
  • Design and install new landscape, as well as maintain existing landscape.
  • Estimate costs and adhere to operating budget as well as purchasing for department.
  • Work with and direct sub-contractors.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to include greasing, oiling, and gassing.
  • Install, maintain, and mow grass.
  • Install/remove flowering and foliage plants, mulch, and trees.
  • Removal of snow and ice throughout different park areas.
  • Pruning, trimming and brush removal.
  • Transplant, water and fertilize flowers.
  • Weed and disbud flower beds.
  • Operate power equipment such as blowers, movers, trimmers and clippers.
  • Operate hand tools such as pruners, looping shears, shovels, rakes, etc.
  • Work on irrigation utilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and hold a valid drivers license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an ornamental, turf pesticide license.
  • Associate of Science or Bachelors of Science Degree in Horticulture or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the horticulture field.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Background in identification and culture of woody plant material and floral plants.
  • Knowledge of landscape equipment (forklifts, tractors, bobcats).
  • Knowledge of plant materials and care including turfs, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders and from heights.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
