Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English Language Arts and a commitment to inspiring a love of reading and writing in all students. This role involves designing and implementing engaging curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students, assessing student progress, and working collaboratively with staff and parents to support student success.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and engage students in the curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to evaluate and report on student progress.
• Implement classroom management techniques to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings, and communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
• Stay current with educational best practices and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Valid California teaching credential or the ability to obtain one before the start date.
• Experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate students and manage diverse classroom dynamics.
• Commitment to professional growth and school’s mission.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
