Job Description
Seeking a US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to apply for a Licensed Mental Health Clinician position with The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Alaska Behavioral Health provides confidential, high-quality behavioral healthcare services and local resource connection to post-9/11 veterans, their families, active-duty service members and the families of active-duty service members, which includes spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others. This position requires 3+ years of clinical experience, experience working with the military/veteran population, and a current license to provide mental health services independently in Alaska.
Pay: $72,310-$93,579/year
*Sign-on Bonus of $10,000*
Schedule: 40 Hours | Full-Time, Exempt
Responsibilities: Veteran Military
- Provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to patients, with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatments
- Perform and document patient’s screenings, psychosocial assessments, progress, and referral information
- Conduct clinical intake assessments on veterans and family members as needed
- Collaborate and coordinate with the caregiver, physician, director, case management and all other disciplines to provide the best care to patients as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Veteran Military
· US Military Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, Military spouse and/or Military family member highly preferred.
· Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program, or a Master’s degree in social work required.
· Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or a Master’s degree in counseling and licensed to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); or a Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and licensed to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required.
· Experience working with military populations and/or Veterans highly preferred.
· 3+ years of clinical experience is preferred.
· Training and expertise in evidenced-based psychotherapies preferred.
· Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment to include child, couples, family, and group treatment is preferred.
· Must have experience treating and diagnosing posttraumatic stress as well as comorbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety), with evidence-based treatments and providing clinical supervision in these areas.
