Job Summary

• The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices.  Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. 
• Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Technician experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT. New grads acceptable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory technician required within one year of hire date.

Work Schedule

• Varied Shifts, e/3rd wknd/hol; 80hrs/2wks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $22.00 - $31.75 per hour
