**SUMMARY:**

Under the supervision of the Administrative Services Director, incumbent is responsible for transporting residents in a safe, responsible manner to scheduled appointments and other activities. Assists residents on and off transportation vehicles, including helping with residents assistive devices. Monitor and assist residents when away from facility.

**Essential Functions**

* Drive community vehicles for purpose of transporting residents to appointments and other activities/outings; assist residents on and off of vehicles; helps residents with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.; keep drivers license and/or chauffeurs license updated and remains eligible for licensing in accordance with state/federal regulations, if applicable.

* Responsible for the maintenance of community vehicles; reports any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and/or incidents; maintain necessary travel logs and transportation charges; conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections; report any unsanitary conditions or needed repairs of vehicles to supervisor. Responsible for scheduling transportation requests/appointments.

* Assists with activities as time permits and as needed; attends meetings and training as needed.

* Performs other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations.

* May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

**Qualifications**

* Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagrammatic or schedule form.

* High School education or GED preferred, but not required.

* Must have a valid drivers/CDL license with a class P endorsement.
