**Position Summary:**

The primary responsibility of the Ingleside at King Farm Concierge is responding to resident concerns and questions relating to the services and amenities at Ingleside at King Farm. Seeking to ensure a high degree of resident satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service at all times.

**Duties:**

* Receive guests and screen visitors to the community. Announce visitors and guests as needed to staff or residents as appropriate.

* Monitor Lifeline system. Respond to emergencies by calling 911, calling the appropriate staff member to respond and writing incident reports as required.

* Review daily "check-in" report and contact residents as needed.

* Ensure that the Concierge desk, lobby and entry areas are maintained in a neat, orderly, and welcoming manner. Assist in creating an atmosphere of warmth and present a welcoming demeanor.

* Assist as needed with telephone answering services and dispatching calls.

* Receive questions and/or service requests from residents or guests and route the question/request to the appropriate department for fulfillment.

* Handle service requests from residents that require assistance from the reception desk. Such services may include but are not limited to: sending/receiving faxes, photocopying, transportation reservations, and arranging for notary public services.

* Assist in sorting and distributing incoming mail to appropriate staff. Assist in the processing of outgoing mail and items for shipping.

* Receive packages (e.g., overnight, UPS) for staff and residents as needed and ensure timely delivery to the recipient.

* Pass out daily updates. Give the security guard the list of who is in and out of the building.

* Assist, when necessary, in familiarizing residents with the policies and procedures of Ingleside at King Farm.

* Assist new residents in becoming acquainted with the greater community.

* Maintain the Concierge desk with information as appropriate about services and programs at Ingleside at King Farm and within the greater community. Material of a religious or political nature is not permitted, nor does Ingleside at King Farm allow solicitation of any kind.

* Assist Ingleside at King Farm in maintaining an accurate census by collecting and distributing to the appropriate department Resident Leave notices.

* Complete all assigned duties, which may be changed from time to time according to resident needs, staffing levels, and working circumstances.

* At all times ensure the safety of the residents.

**Position Requirements:**

Experience:

* Proficient use of the English language in both verbal and written forms.

* Ability to speak to and deal with the general public.

* Strong telephone and communication skills.

* Must possess a warm, outgoing personality.

* Proficiency in typing (45 wpm with 95% accuracy) and computer skills.

* Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population.

* Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications.

Education Requirements:

* High School Education

Specific Requirements:

* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

* Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

* Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public.

* Must possess the ability to assist in planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting department programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.

* Must have patience, tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging situations.

* Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors.

* Maintains a rapport with staff, the residents and their families.

* Must be willing to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

* Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

* Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
