QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Holds a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B, Endorsements P and S that is valid for interstate driving and a Kentucky School Bus Driver Certificate or must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B, Endorsements P and S that is valid for interstate driving and a KY School Bus Driver Certificate within ninety (90) days of employment
- Has the ability to read and follow written directions
- Has two years of secretarial and clerical experience preferred
- Has the ability to type at an appropriate skill level
- Has skills in filing, and telephone and computer operation
- Has the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Has experience handling confidential information
- Has demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and community
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation
JOB GOAL: To assist the Transportation Department with various tasks and activities required to provide an efficient transportation services system
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be familiar with and follow accordingly written statutes, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor in response to routine requests and emergency situations
- Communicate with parents, students, staff and community; handling information appropriately and professionally while maintaining confidentiality
- Operate two-way radio base stations and paging systems as required.
- Coordinate with school administration and others responsible for planning all field trips
- Assist in the implementation of all Board Policies as they relate to transportation
- Create work orders in response to bus driver's pre-trip forms and communicate with Fleet Service Department in response to bus breakdowns
- Maintain absentee log and schedule itinerants accordingly
- Keep a daily log of activities and relay pertinent information to the appropriate supervisors in a timely manner
- Assist in preparing bus routes, rosters and schedules when requested by the Director of Transportation
- Drive a school bus in emergency situations as requested by the Director of Transportation
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor

- Hourly (Grade 31)
- 8.0 hours per day
- 40 hours per wk.
- 244 days
- 12 months
