Primary Purpose The purpose of the Sales Development Manager role is to build and maintain relationships with clients to increase Swishers volume and distribution within regional chain and independent accounts across a designated area. Key Responsibilities Manage sales, distribution, and in-store product display positioning within a given geography, including merchandising, point-of-sale, and driving promotions along with pricing strategies for retail chain, independent, and wholesale accounts. Manage and develop assigned area with an intrapreneurial mentality with a focus around managing and accessing risks and opportunities to further develop their book of business. Consult, advise, and engage with client base on category management and business analytics to help improve the performance of their business. Assists the Region Managers in supporting Territory Managers development while serving as a mentor to Territory Managers throughout the zone. Provide project support to the Region Manager(s) in creating and/or coordinating store resets. Develop innovative ways to improve Swishers brand performance through selling skills using data analysis, brand and trade marketing, planning, and product placement. Develop and utilize the Swisher Shield system to track, measure, and analyze progress against key sales & marketing initiatives as well as being the subject matter Shield expert for the Zone. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required 2+ years of relevant field sales experience. Prior supervisory/leadership experience. Must be at least 21 at the time of employment. Must have a valid drivers license. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Education: High School Diploma Travel: This role requires travel, including overnight travel, up to 50%. Travel requirements are contingent on the territories and are subject to change depending on business needs. Key Competencies Must be comfortable working autonomously and able to adapt to situations effectively. Excellent sales & interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships and work well with all levels of the organization and externally with customers and buyers. Exceptional time management and organizational skills. May be standing for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, push and/or pull 40 pounds or more on a regular basis. Ability to visit and move around at convenience stores, warehouses, and other work sites, including the ability to climb a ladder or maneuver in tight or small places.
