 The successful candidate will be highly responsible, detail oriented, motivated, and a self-starter with a broad understanding of food safety, quality control and quality systems. In addition, this individual will possess the ability to effectively communicate and develop professional relationships with internal and external parties.

This position will require collaborative work with cross functional groups including Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Vendors and Customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Management of Roquette's Quality Assurance programs for our manufacturing operations related to human food and animal feed production.
• Responsible for including FDA and GMP compliance, HACCP implementation, documentation, complaint investigation, non-conformance investigation as well as technical support related to Quality.
• Manage vendor quality improvement and vendor corrective action plans.
• Design, develop and implement QA management and food safety programs.
• Conduct statistical analysis, problem solving and trouble shooting.

Qualifications

Education:

BS degree in a chemistry, food science or related technical field.

Experience:

10 years of Quality Assurance management experience in the food or pharma industry

Specific requirements:

Thorough understanding of FSMA for human food and animal feed (PCQI certification is a plus)

Business Trips (Percentage):

This position may require up to 10% business travel.    

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This position works 95% of the time inside; 5% of the time is spent outside. Occasionally this position requires working with hazards, extreme heat/cold; humidity, heights, exposure to dust, fumes and gasses. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical demands of this position include repetitive use of hands and arms. Individual must be able to talk, hear, see, and distinguish colors.  Individual must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This position may require weekend work.
