Job Description Summary:


To provide transportation services for athletic teams, student clubs, or other college groups needing transportation to and from events as well as maintaining and servicing motor pool vehicles on a routine basis.


Essential Duties :


Responsible for transporting athletic teams, student clubs, or other college groups to and from events.


Responsible for maintaining a State of Texas Class B CDL license with passenger endorsement.


Keep all motor pool vehicles cleaned and serviced; to include: washing vacuuming, maintaining


exterior and interior surfaces.


Perform routine required and assigned daily service and visual inspections and maintenance on assigned fleet vehicles, to include: checking oil, tire pressure, brake and transmission fluids, fueling and filling fuel tank and similar related tasks.


Responsible for taking vehicles to the local lube and repair center for oil changes, state inspections, tire rotation, replacement, vehicle repairs and similar and related tasks.


Keeps accurate records on service inspection reports and maintenance performed on a daily basis.


Assists Coordinator Vehicle Fleets as needed.


Assists the receiving, maintenance, and campus courier departments on an as needed basis.


Perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Knowledge of federal, state, local rules and regulations pertaining to bus transportation.


Ability to read, write and communicate with co-workers, supervisors, internal and external customers.


Ability to use a checklist to perform inspections of assigned vehicles, fill fuel tank, check oil, tire pressure and to make visual inspection checks.


Knowledge to determine vehicles overall roadworthiness.


Ability to work with people of diverse personalities, education and cultural backgrounds.


Ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships that support transportation objectives.


Ability to bend, stoop and lift heavy objects.


Must get along with others.


Decision making skills


Ability to perform duties and assignments with limited supervision.


Ability to self-start and maintain necessary motivation to perform the job.


Possible overnight and weekend travel required.


Preferred Qualifications:


Two (2) years commercial driving experience.


Salary Range: $18 hr + experience
