**Description**

**SUMMARY**

Loads, unloads, ships, receives and moves materials within or near plant by performing the following duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Uses computer, RF gun and/or completes paperwork in order to enter and track information on items shipped, received or moved to or from inventory.

Reads mfg. job, shipping order or other material handling documents to determine items to be moved or distributed.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places order on pallet, stretch wraps the order and marks material with identifying information and/or shipping labels.

Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes proper labels.

Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials/ inventory items and distributes these items to production work centers.

Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.

Organizes and maintains material storage areas.

Cleans work area.

Operates various material handling and packing equipment.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**

Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

**REASONING ABILITY**

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
