OVERVIEW:GiGstreem is a US based national Internet Service Provider, serving Residential (Single Family, MDU) and Commercial (MTU) clients with technology solutions in markets across the country. As a part of our growth and expansion, GiGstreem is looking to hire a Field Technician. SUMMARY:

GiGstreem is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Network Engineering. As a rapidly growing organization, we are dedicated to maintaining cutting-edge network infrastructure to support our evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing our network engineering team, overseeing network implementations, providing robust support, and managing day to day operations. This role is a combination of leadership and technical capabilities supporting transit, transport, and wireless technologies.

  • Establish a culture of highly effective and energized team members that are focused on common engineering goals and technical solutions that will enable the business to scale.
  • Provide technical leadership for networking teams including direction on design, troubleshooting, and deployment.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing network engineering team.
  • Develop and publish reports and metrics to support operational efficiencies and cross functional visibility and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture while interfacing with other internal cross functional teams to create cohesive network engineering processes that aligns with the rest of the business.
  • Develop and implement proactive monitoring solutions to ensure high visibility of the network infrastructure for the entire company, NOC and Tier 2 agents.
  • Develop training and processes for NOC and tier 2 support capabilities
  • Manage the organization’s telecom resources, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, review SLAs, and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Create and oversee the creation and development of documentation repositories, standards, and processes.
  • Documents the teams’ processes and reviews and publishes weekly project updates, team metrics, and oversees budget and costs of telecom.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a similar technical role with a minimum of 2 years managing an engineering team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 3-5 years telecom experience, managing vendor relationships, and contract management.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in network routing and switching; CCNP or CCIE preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Solid working knowledge of structured cabling design and best practices.
  • Experience and working knowledge with Office 365, especially Visio (or equivalent software such as AutoCAD).
  • Experience and working knowledge with the following platforms Ruckus, Cambium, Microtik
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise of data networks, telecom, Wi-Fi, unified communications, and fixed-wireless.
  • Strong organization skills
  • Able to mentor and coach team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead initiatives proactively.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and contribute to strategic decision-making.

SCHEDULE:
  • Full-time

Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000

Location: Remote.
