The Operations Manager reports to the Director Operations Oncology R&D and will be allocated to ORD functions based on need and within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role provides specific support on business operations and oversees day to day, business as usual activities to ensure the various services provided are robust, executed in a timely manner and fit for purpose. Requests for work and deliverables will be agreed between the Director Operations Oncology R&D and functional BPO lead via the SLA. Business operations includes a wide range of services, examples of which include: Scorecard development and monitoring Footprint planning and management Risk monitoring and mitigation planning Global operational/business as usual (BAU) processes and initiatives such as Performance Development timetable, MTP/LTP, Learning & Development, etc. Key Responsibilities: Lead quarterly scorecard, KPI and metric monitoring working with relevant stakeholders. Collate input and distribute periodic reports to the Leadership Team Support BPO in the preparation and review of the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) or end of year reports Provide support for ad hoc BPO requests, these may be reports or special projects such as office moves Monitor risks by promoting timely and accurate reporting across the function, track action plans and critical issues Support AZ internal audit and local functional audits by coordinating auditees and information requests, ensure awareness of internal audit dates and plans. Use output of audits to inspire change and improvement. Ensure Saba is maintained and roles aligned to relevant training to improve business performance and efficiency Identify learnings and business process change needs and ensure they are tracked and implemented Support BPO with MTP planning, coordination and the narrative Support drug project governance processes such as the Oncology Research Board or Development Review Committee. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferably within a scientific field 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry 3+ years of Project Management experience with a successful track record of delivering overall project results within agreed time, quality and cost Highly customer orientated Experience with senior stakeholder and partner management Highly developed organizational and project management skills Strong analytical skills Broad experience in a wide range of sectors, functions and processes Strong strategic thinking, judgment and influencing skills Good leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short- and long-term needs, constructively resolve issues Desirables: Confident presentation skills Ability to work in an environment of remote collaborators Good cultural awareness About Our Gaithersburg Oncology Hub Our Gaithersburg, Maryland facility creates life-changing medicines for people around the world.
