Manufacturing Operations Manager 3

based out of

Elkridge, MD

at our

Troy Hill

campus.

You will lead Manufacturing, Test, and Integration of our Life Cycle Sustainment Operations. This organization provides sustainment support to numerous Government, Prime and Foreign customers.

In addition to a diverse sustainment portfolio, the manufacturing operations leader will lead their team in support of low-rate production, spares, hardware modernizations (retrofits), and field services.

You must be able to multi-task, interface with multiple customers and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. You have good people skills and proven accomplishments with department objectives by supervising staff, organizing, and monitoring work processes that adhere to company values.

What You'll get to do:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager directs all aspects and phases of designated operations from inception through completion, including fabrication, machining, assembly, test, and integration

Monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, cost performance to budgets, identifies process problems, develops solutions, and provides cost and schedule performance data/status as the Cost Area Manager for programs within manufacturing

Direct the work of Supervisors and Employees, supports safety initiatives, and interfaces with cross-functional teams as required for areas of responsibility

Utilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, production control, global supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.

Drive results and operational efficiency across all aspects of Safety, Quality, Deliveries, Cost, and Morale, including promotion of Employee Safety Practices, 6S projects, safety walks, audit readiness, flexible factory and equipment layout, strategic sourcing and scheduling initiatives, and Innovation Cards (i-cards) to drive a continuous improvement culture across Manufacturing

Foster high levels of employee engagement through seeking employee feedback, focused team projects, and Manufacturing Supervisor team projects

Provide leadership across the manufacturing team. The ability to direct and lead the organization to meet manufacturing delivery dates will be critical as well as providing leadership and guidance in areas such as: technical guidance, process development, continuous improvement, safety, capacity and production planning, Capital/Facility planning, cost/benefit analysis, Manpower planning and staffing, workforce engagement, and merit planning

Work across and liaise with the various leaders across the site to meet all business requirements and milestones is a key function of this role

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or 13 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

5+ years of direct management or leadership of people and/or processes

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, planning, and executing with a sense of urgency

Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skill

Working knowledge of earned value, manufacturing metrics, and SAP

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret level security clearance for which U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM field or Management discipline

Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Experience with production control and manufacturing processes

Lean manufacturing and process improvement implementation experience

Experience managing department budgets

General SAP/ ERP experience is desired

Salary Range:

$142,600 - $213,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
