I. Basic Function: To maintain authority and manage the site crew in a safe, efficient, and productive manner with all site development projects.

II. Primary Duties:

1. Take Ownership of this position.

2. Follow all company policies and procedures.

3. Change and adapt to industry changes as required.

4. Follow strict deadlines as handed down by the Site Work Supervisor, Project Manager, or Owner.

5. Manage the site crew and assist with site development.

6. Monitor and assure all jobs are being performed in a proficient manner.

7. Read blueprints with attention to detail and accuracy.

8. Be able to set grades for building pads, berms, swales, and parking lots.

9. Be able to perform essential functions of the operator or laborer when necessary.

10. Operate heavy equipment when necessary.

11. Organize and assign responsibility to crew member in order to adhere to the schedule set forth by the company.

12. Train new crew members on safety policies, company policies, and the proper usage of all required equipment and tools.

13. Communicate daily with site crew on changing conditions, schedules, job locations, job requirements, and hazards.

14. Be able to follow specific job requirements and identify potential dangers.

15. Perform daily jobsite inspections and take immediate action to ensure safety and proficiency at all times.

16. Be willing to work weekends or long hours, if needed, in order to meet scheduling requirements.

17. Keep track of on-site information by completing daily field reports, employee time sheets, incident reports, and any other required documentation as required.

18. Manage inventory logs and communicate with the supervisor in a timely manner to ensure all necessary materials are available to keep up with production goals and complete the job as outlined in the schedule.

19. Maintain a positive attitude with all customers and employees.

20. Set a positive leadership and management example for all employees.

21. Attend training and meetings as directed.

22. Other duties as directed.

III. Supervision Received: This position reports to the Site Work Supervisor.

IV. Skills Required:

1. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task.

2. Must pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy.

3. Good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Organizational skills.

5. Problem analysis and problem solving skills.

6. Sense of urgency.

7. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and laws governing safe procedures.

8. Must have the ability to represent Thompkins Contracting, Inc. in a professional manner with customers, vendors, fellow staff members, and the general public.

9. Must have a Driver’s License and clean driving record.

V. Education and Work Experience:

1. Knowledge of blueprinting and how to read plans.

2. Knowledge of administration and managing procedures.

3. Knowledge of site development construction.

4. Proficient in mathematics.

5. 3-5 years experience in a Foreman or Job Site Management position.

VI. Physical Demands: The physical demands of this position are light to heavy. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 100 lbs.

VII. Work Environment:

1. This position is conducted on active job sites and will require significant time outside with exposure to a wide range of weather conditions.
