Job Title: Client Billing Representative
Department: Client/Research Billing Department
Reports to: Department Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: Responsible for working client research accounts billed on both invoices and 1500
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Daily:
· Communicates with clients via phone or email in regards outstanding invoices to obtain payment details in both Athena and Epic
· Review research billing grids, protocols, and coverage analysis to determine correct study is being performed and billed
· Review and correct prebill claim edits related to research protocols
· Works closely with KeyBank to provide necessary back-up for payments made via credit card
· Review A/R with contracts to verify charges are entered per contract to ensure contract compliance
· Research payment discrepancies and provide evidence to posting
· Answer internal and external calls and answer questions pertaining to accounts
· Makes manual corrections to invoices via PDF creator for Athena invoices
· Communicate with Supervisor any issues regarding billing discrepancies
Monthly:
· Monitor research account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
· Complete full audits of research clients
As Needed:
· Investigate and resolve customer queries
· Process adjustments
· Provide supervisor with details regarding any trends or severely aged A/R
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. At least one-year previous medical A/R follow up experience required. Good computer and keyboarding skills required. Must have knowledge of office software and medical billing software with Athena or Epic experience a plus. Candidate must be able to read, interpret, and/or follow up on an EOB denial as well as understand medical terminology. Previous client billing or research billing a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Position requires ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, general correspondence, and memos. In addition, ability to write office correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
