**Description**

**OVERVIEW:**

**Continuously interacts with production, planning, purchasing, product management, accounting, customer service and engineering. Recommends and models lean manufacturing principles and techniques on the production floor. Participates in cycle count activities and physical inventories.**

**WHAT YOU"LL DO:**

* Responsible for shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory management practices.

* Document damaged freight and leads claims process.

* Administer movement of incoming and outgoing materials throughout the factory. Ensure proactive communication of material issues to key focal points in purchasing, planning, production, warehousing, or shipping.

* Act as a liaison and expeditor between departments to resolve issues in a timely manner. Perform expeditor duties on orders that are late or tracking late as needed to support goals. When requested, participate in shortage and production meetings providing information to status customer orders.

* Monitor and track materials requests (e.g. MRs, Shop Order Pick lists) to prioritize and administer movement at the right times. Utilize job routers and other information to determine instructions for movement of materials.

* Maintain adequate Kanban inventory for shipping department materials. Review shipping schedule frequently and order materials as needed according to lead-times so that stock-out conditions never occur.

* Work with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure inventory stock locations strategy supports Zetecs manufacturing model. Maintain accuracy in rack and bin locations including labeling and the right parts are in the right place. Keep the area well organized and set-up for efficient picking of orders.

* Assist with process and procedure verification, material handling system review, and improvement recommendations. Writes work instructions and procedures as needed.

* Improve and tracking of inventory; maintain transaction documentation.

* Develop recommendations and participate in the implementation and administration of inventory management programs such as Kanban, vendor managed inventory, etc.

* Lead and participate in cycle counts. Verify the accuracy of work performed by others. Analyze, root cause, and verify cycle count disparities and make needed corrections to achieve 98% accuracy in counts.

* Perform audits for inventory transactions. Participate in physical inventory activities.

* Work effectively across groups particularly all supply chain teams, customer service, and accounting.

* Assist with Poly/Cable pull production and material planning.

* Assist other production areas as needed.

* Follow all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements.

* Work overtime as required and be available for flexible hours and overtime at month end, quarter end, and inventory count events.

* Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

**WHAT YOU"LL BRING TO ZETEC:**

* High School diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum two (2) years inventory, materials, or warehouse related experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Export Compliance experience preferred.

* APICS certification desired.

This position requires working full-time in a warehouse environment and occasionally in a production area with fumes from Freon, alcohol acetone, adhesives, sealants, trichloroethene, solder flux, etc. Fluctuating requirements of this position include periods of working long hours and under tight deadlines.
