The Salvation Army is hiring for a Store Clerk/Sorter at our Rogers Store. This is a PTWB position and Pays $11.00 per hour.

This position is responsible for interacting daily with our customers, encouraging them to purchase our products, and sorting what comes in through donations. You will also be interacting daily with the gentlemen in our CSRC Drug and Alcohol program helping to teach them new skills and to get them ready to rejoin the work force free of drugs and alcohol. The donations that come in are extremely important as the donations support the drug and alcohol program. That means our Store Clerk/ Sorters are important to our mission and to the men in our Rehabilitation Program. The job description is below.

The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.** Store Clerk Responsibilities **(75%)** Assists customers by explaining store policy and responding to questions regarding the pricing and/or purchasing of items; ensures that all customers visiting the store have a pleasant experience. Places and arranges items in the store as directed checks all store displays to ensure that items are maintained and displayed in a neat and orderly manner; rotates and/or rearranges stock as directed; returns items to the proper location after customers have handled. Sorting Room Worker Responsibilities **(15%)** **Other Responsibilities (10%)** **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** Knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Knowledge of the principles and practices of basic mathematics. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED** **Education and Experience** High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. **Physical Requirements** Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to operate a cash register. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change. Ability to sort items in accordance with established categories. Ability to determine the condition of items in accordance with established standards. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds or more multiple times throughout the day
