This position is an essential part of Sherwin’s manufacturing team.This position is responsible for being assigned various production related tasks, which includes product manufacturing, product filling, and shipping related functions.   • Read instructions on batch ticket to properly set various filling and packaging equipment for automatic operation.
  • Lift and maneuver hoses weighing up to 50 lbs. to overhead connections for coupling to pipe system.
  • Open and close valves located at various levels, orientation and degrees of manageability.
  • Drive a towmotor and/or forklift vehicle to transport pallets of materials within the plant.
  • Lift and position stacks of labels, lids, pails, and cartons weighing up to 50 lbs. from floor level to overhead level to load automatic machines.
  • Climb and descend stairs and ladders in the course of the filling process.
  • Lift and position 5-gallon pails of product weighing up to 65 lbs. from waist height to floor level.
  • Move 550 lb. drums with the assistance of a two-wheeled cart for distances of up to 20 feet.
  • Complete paperwork involved in the course of the filling process.
  • Use painting and cleaning equipment (brushes, brooms, shovels, dustpans, mops, etc.) for general housekeeping chores.
  • Operate a forklift and other machinery or tools to transport, move, stock, and store materials and product
  • Load and unload shipments verifies materials and packing slips, and stocks items as appropriate
  • Pull, pick, and stage orders based on customer or production needs, prepare items for shipment or production, and complete appropriate paperwork or updates system records.
  • Assist with maintaining an inventory of materials, product, and goods, such as completing cycle counts, performing calculations, entering information, and other related duties.
  • Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
  • Wear required safety equipment as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, or labelers, etc. 
  • Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
  • Must have at least (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollys, conveyor belts, etc.
