Penn State Health St. Joseph Regional Health Network Location: US:PA:Reading Work Type: Full Time FTE: 1.0 Shift: Varied Hours: Rotating evening/nights Recruiter Information: Contact Natalie Speece at nspeece@pennstatehealth.psu.edu Clinical Staff Leader - RN Registered Nurse Medical/ Surgical/ Telemetry 2 North (Cardiac Unit) Penn State Health St. Joseph (Reading, PA) JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Staff Leader - RN Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting in supervising nursing staff; for providing leadership and orientation to nursing personnel; and for performing a variety of nursing duties in order to coordinate the delivery of care to patients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: Make daily rounds for assigned patients. Assess patient and family needs. Collaborate with the medical staff concerning plan of care for patients. Provide direct patient treatment and care. Educate patient/family. Serve as a role model for nursing staff in providing patient care. Serve as a resource person to staff members. Assist in supervising the daily activities of the nursing staff. May participate in hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating staff. Make daily work assignments. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and physician rounds, if possible. Meet regularly with supervisor concerning patient situations, to resolve clinical, and administrative problems. Assist the nursing staff in evaluating and implementing patient care needs. Manage daily operation of the unit in the absence of supervisor. Serve on assigned committees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse- RN by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. 2 years of related work experience required.
