As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs of the Company's manufacturing machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems. You will utilize your knowledge and experience to ensure all wire and cable manufacturing equipment operates continuously. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and perseverance to troubleshoot and solve complex problems. This position is expected to anticipate problems and take decisive, proactive measures to avoid or minimize adverse impacts on the facilities or equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical problems on a wide variety of rotating machinery to include, but not limited to, sanding, cabling, armoring, and extruding equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex industrial mechanical equipment within a wire and cable manufacturing facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations on wire and cable manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain all manufacturing facility assets to include, but not limited to, HVAC & refrigeration, air compressors, hydraulic systems, and extrusion equipment.
  • Promptly address machinery breakdowns including root cause analysis and ensure all repairs are completed in an expeditious manner.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information related to "break-ins" and/or non-scheduled maintenance items.
  • Ensure all equipment documentation is up to date and maintained on a regular basis, to include mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
  • Create work orders, requisition parts, and maintain corresponding documentation.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
  • Job duties may also include general maintenance and upkeep of facilities, grounds, and support of utility equipment when needed.
Requirements
  • This position is subject to the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Previous work experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment, preferably within wire and cable sector.
  • Successful completion of a mechanical trades apprentice program and/or a U.S. Armed Forces equivalent military occupational specialty (MOS).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
  • Experience using a laptop or PC
  • Knowledge and experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software.
  • Must be able to operate various industrial power equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulating/telescoping boom lifts.
  • Subject to 24-hour on-call status and work emergency overtime when required.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as required.
Work Environment
The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.

This position requires the ability to bend, stoop and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as climb ramps and stairs; read and write, work with a computer and keyboard; hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery, sirens, and alarms); speak to express or exchange ideas, impart oral information to include instructions; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds in a safe and proper manner.
