Customer Service Clerk

JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Service Clerk supports the Customer Service Supervisor/Manager and Operations department in the performance of daily activities which including obtaining and communicating freight and delivery information, creating, and issuing quotes and invoices. Resolving and or communicating customer concerns and complaints to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner. Initiating billing cycles and verifying appropriate charges. Provides excellent customer service support by telephone and email.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answers freight and delivery inquiries via email or by telephone in a courteous and tactful manner. Directs calls to the correct station/person.
• Obtains and communicates accurate freight and delivery information, directions, instructions using a computer.
• Assures information about freight is detail and consistent with company policy, contract agreements and regulatory guidelines.
• Establishes and maintains digital files, keeping files up to date. Correctly uses a filing system and keeps files in logical order so that material is readily retrievable.

• Provide customer support by phone and by email

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Efficient in the use of using computers.
3. Efficient in the use of computer software programs such as MS office.
4. One-year of business billing experience strongly preferred
5. Experience in the transportation or logistics industry preferred.
6. Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
