Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Business Architect for a potential opportunity to perform a key role in developing and creating a common understanding of the enterprise by applying architectural principles to clearly articulate its business capabilities, governance structure, and supporting processes using a holistic approach.

The role focuses on defining and analyzing aspects of what the impacted business group does, how it does it, how it is organized, and how it realizes value. This information is used to align the strategic objectives and tactical demands.

Experience is required to document business architectural models, define current and future state, and effectively communicate them with business and IT stakeholders.

Assist in defining the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data. Collaborate with business and IT teams to propose, architect, and plan technology solutions and provide input into technical solution designs.

Five (5) + years of demonstrated experience with analyzing and documenting business processes, using model-based representations for the purpose of collecting, aggregating, or analyzing complex business information.

The Business Architect will assist to define, develop, and maintain integrated views of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, identifying and leveraging an appropriate framework, and available standard techniques. Ensure that business and technology are in alignment by linking the business strategy, and processes with IT strategy.

The role requires expert team leadership and guidance in performance under this contract. It is expected that this person will be responsible for leading the overall assessment of existing business processes to support the identified activities. The business architect will also lead the identification of potential efficiencies and business process modifications to support data goals.
Experience utilizing industry-recognized architectural frameworks and standards such as Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) or TOGAF (nice to have).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Develops, maintains, and documents the business perspectives within the Corporate Enterprise Architecture ensuring alignment to strategy and CONOPs
  • Develops the business analysis strategy to include defining Problem/Opportunity, major stakeholders, and Preliminary lifecycle concept.
  • Conducts business architecture analysis to include providing the evaluation of alternatives, identifying business requirements, and proposing validation criteria.
  • Development of conceptual, logical and physical architecture and technical roadmaps defining the time-phased schedule for the path of transition or transformation of systems and services from the baselined current state to the future state CEA; and program, segment and project-based solution-level architectures consistent with the enterprise-level architecture.
  • Senior level experience in business architecture, business process re-engineering, and business modeling with systems engineering.
  • Senior level working experience in government or industry with Architecture tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with business process structures, optimization, integration, and modeling.

Required Education and Certifications:
  • The business architect shall have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subjects.
  • Five (5)+ years of experience leading business process re-engineering, business process assessment, or business architectural development.

Able to attain/maintain Public Trust Clearance
