Packaging Engineer

As a Packaging Engineer at Kollmorgen, a Regal Rexnord Brand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are packaged efficiently, sustainably, and securely. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement packaging solutions that meet both customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Packaging Design: Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams to create innovative and cost-effective packaging designs that protect products during shipping and storage while minimizing waste.
• Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate packaging materials, considering factors such as cost, environmental impact, and compatibility with the product.
• Sustainability: Develop and implement sustainable packaging strategies, including reducing material waste and optimizing recycling options to align with our company's environmental goals.
• Packaging Testing: Conduct various tests, such as drop tests, compression tests, and environmental tests, to ensure that packaging solutions meet safety and quality standards.
• Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities in the packaging process, such as material selection, design, and logistics, without compromising quality.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with packaging regulations and standards, ensuring that our packaging solutions comply with local and international requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement lean and continuous improvement principles to enhance packaging processes and reduce inefficiencies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, production, quality control, and procurement teams to ensure the successful implementation of packaging solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in packaging design and optimization, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design software, and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of sustainability principles and the ability to integrate eco-friendly practices into packaging design.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to packaging.
• Experience with CAD software and other relevant packaging design tools is a plus.
