Job Description
Ameresco has a new opportunity for a BAS/EMCS Engineer to join our Measurement & Verification Team. The engineer will be responsible for obtaining and analyzing data from building automation systems (BAS) and energy management control systems (EMCS) to evaluate the technical performance of energy efficiency and renewable energy retrofits and improvements. This is a remote position that will involve travel to project sites.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with controls subcontractors and in-house design engineers, construction managers, and commissioning agents to establish data trends in BAS and EMCS systems.
Interface with controls systems from Automated Logic, Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls/JCI, Honeywell, and other leading manufacturers.
Export data from BAS and EMCS systems for import into a proprietary system.
Support measurement and verification (M&V) engineers by generating and analyzing charts, graphs, and other data visualizations of trended data.
Analyze data visualizations to evaluate performance of HVAC equipment, chillers, boilers, other mechanical systems, utility meters and submeters, and renewable energy systems.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in computer science, data science, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with BAS, EMCS, or similar controls systems.
Ability to review confidential US security information.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with controls and automation systems from Automated Logic, Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls/JCI, Honeywell, and other manufacturers.
Understanding of engineering principles associated with the analysis of energy-savings measures.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with energy savings performance contracts (ESPC) or utility energy service contracts (UESC) contract vehicles.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain within 2 years of hire.
Experience with Python or other programming languages.
Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills.
Valid Driver’s License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
Ability to travel as required.
