About the Client Accounting Services Manager

The client accounting services manager reports to the chief operating officer (COO) and will lead the Adavico Client Accounting Services division, which is comprised of Endowment Accounting, Foundation Accounting, Implementation, and Client Support service teams. This position provides critical expertise to stakeholders, internal staff, and clientele to ensure the company's software products and accounting services strategically align with end-user objectives. It also oversees customer satisfaction, retention, and growth through exceptional service and a deep understanding of Adavico software and services. The role is conducted remotely from a designated home office, with some in-person meetings.

Areas of Responsibility & Duties Within:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
1.  Leadership & Strategy

  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a thought leader and expert on endowments to drive success across people, processes, and technology
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units (e.g., Business Development, Marketing, Engineering) to support a customer-centric, frictionless success experience
2. Team Management

  • Promote a culture of accountability and professional development
  • Provide hands-on support with team members to deliver high-quality services in meeting objectives
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead professional service teams housed within Client Accounting Services
3. Client Management

  • Liaise between the client and product development
  • Support client relationships with auditors, bankers, investment managers, and consultants
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships and partnerships to ensure customer satisfaction and success
 4. Service Delivery & Quality Assurance

  • Implement robust processes for quality assurance, continuous improvement, and risk management
  • Drive root-cause analysis of funnel points in partnership with implementations, accounting services, and operations
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Adavico endowment accounting services and software implementations, adhering to project timelines and quality standards
5. Financial Management

  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with capacity and client demands
  • Analyze service level agreements against time logs and discuss overages with the client
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding service offerings to generate new business growth
The client accounting services manager may be enlisted to assist with other duties as assigned. As with all Adavico employees, they will also stay current with technologies, industry trends, and best practices to introduce innovation, security, and process improvements into our work.

 Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Licenses: CPA, current and in good standing
  • Experience: 12+ years of progressively responsible financial accounting or auditing experience working with non- profits and 5+ years of supervisory experience leading teams and managing client relationships
  • Technical Competence: In-depth understanding of FASB, GASB, GAAP, UPMIFA requirements, business processes, internal controls, and financial accounting
  • Information Security: Experience handling sensitive, confidential information professionally and responsibly with the ability to adopt and maintain a security-forward stance for all transactions and activities
  • Audit: Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles/procedures; ability to navigate/interpret nonprofit financial statements
  • Proprietary Platform: Ability to develop advanced proficiency with Adavico Web Application and supporting system
  • Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity apps and experience working with integrated accounting systems (e.g., Adavico, QuickBooks, Bill.com)
  • Professional Development: Participate in an ongoing process of learning new skills and technologies that improve job performance
  • Project Management: Strong time management and prioritization skills with an aptitude to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Self-Management: Ability to work with little or no supervision, and thrive independently from hybrid locations
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write concisely, express thoughts clearly, and develop ideas in a logical sequence
  • Customer Service: Calm, listening demeanor while communicating positively to discover a working solution
  • Attention to Detail: Analytical and process-oriented mindset
  • Location: East Coast time zone with preferred locations in Virginia or North Carolina
  • Connectivity: Ability to secure reliable, high-speed internet
  • Clearance: Ability to pass background and credit checks and enter into confidentiality agreements
