Job Description

Who are we? ATG is leading the transformation of the multi-billion dollar global auction industry. The company has grown rapidly over the last 7 years, expanding from ~$18m of revenue and $3m of profits seven years ago to over $170m of revenue and over $80m of profits today. The company IPO’d in 2021 and has had a successful run both during the covid period and after. ATG is early in our journey to establish a hugely influential global internet company that is revolutionizing one of the last industries in the world yet to move significantly online.

What do we do? ATG connects thousands of auction houses, listing millions of items worth over $15 billion annually (and growing!), to buyers in over 170 countries around the world. These buyers generate over 100 million bids a year for our sellers, helping them achieve maximum value for the goods they sell. We help auctioneers sell everything from medieval swords to combine harvesters, paintings, and decorative art through to classic cars, furniture, and Caterpillar forklifts. We do this through 8 marketplaces that leverage our online auction technologies. We make auctioneers more efficient, we make small companies big by bringing them access to millions of bidders they could never find on their own, and we bring them technology they could never afford alone. We bring bidders choice of unique and specialized items, convenience, and trust. We do it all in a shared success model that accelerates growth of the circular economy and sustainable buying. With ATG, our buyers and sellers win but so too does the planet! We have ethical ambition and it’s something our employees value and is a key part of who we are….as well as being a high growth marketplace company with excellent competitive positioning!

The role is based in North America and has flexibility offering fully remote & a hybrid setting with up to 2 days a week in the office. This role will report to the CRM Director.

Who are we looking for? Are you ready to take charge of our Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) operations? As the SFMC Operations Lead, reporting directly to the Head of Global CRM, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of our SFMC instance. Your expertise will be relied upon to proactively monitor the platform, keeping a keen eye on every aspect to ensure flawless delivery. You will also be the point person for managing any changes, improvements, maintenance or updates to anything that lives in SFMC.

In this dynamic role, you will encounter a variety of scenarios on a daily basis.

Picture this:

Data import failure? The team will count on you to swiftly detect the issue, alert the relevant internal teams, and take the lead in resolving it, all while keeping stakeholders informed every step of the way.

A campaign has an abnormally high bounce rate? You'll be quick to notice it and immediately investigate what might have caused the problem until you’ve found the resolution.

Counts appearing inaccurate in a segment or data extension? You'll dive deep into the import processes, meticulously analyzing raw data to identify the root cause.

Has there been a change to an upstream system that provides data to SFMC? You will work cross-functionally with technical partners in Analytics, Product and Data Engineering to ensure that the necessary updates are made in SFMC ensuring smooth continued operations and delivery.

As the linchpin of our SFMC operations, you will ensure that our multitude of automated and scheduled campaigns are flawlessly delivered to the right customers at the right time. And when glitches do occur, you'll be the first to flag them and see them through to resolution.

What we offer you! If you like what you’ve read above, then you are likely someone who’s already seen real success in your career and hopefully can tell this is a place where you can continue or expand on that success as you build your career. What we offer, we believe is unique. We are big enough to have real resources to put against our strategy and small enough where you will KNOW you are making an impact. We are large enough to have IPO’d but are still very early in our journey as a business so you are still part of shaping all that ATG is and will become. We don’t just talk about our culture, we actively cultivate it and seek people who fit it---our employee NPS scores in the high 80s reflect this. Our brand, while known in niche areas today, will one day be a global brand. And YOUR personal brand equity will grow alongside ours. As you build ATG, you will be helping build your credentials as well. Why? Because everyone likes to recruit from a success story and we offer you the chance to be part of a great success story that combines financial success with ethical peace of mind. And finally, as we succeed, you will share in that success since every ATG employee is a shareholder.

Our Benefits also include:

  • Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance
  • 401K
  • Unlimited PTO

What will you be doing?

  • Take primary accountability for the successful operations of everything in SFMC including: data feeds, campaign deliveries, templates, and reports.
  • Troubleshoot data issues in SFMC and investigate until you find the root cause.
  • Uphold data integrity, consistency, and governance across the SFMC platform.
  • Architect data feeds, journey configurations, and components required for running complex automated email and SMS campaigns.
  • Create technical, integration, and data design documentation.
  • Project manage new campaign builds, data integrations, template refreshes, and reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytics, Data Engineering, Marketing, and commercial teams to ensure timely delivery and data accuracy.
  • Key point of contact for business and technical stakeholders, such as Marketing & Analytics teams, explaining campaign build methodology and working collaboratively to maximize efficiencies in SFMC.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple competing projects.

What you need for success:

  • 3+ years of experience in data-driven customer lifecycle marketing, leveraging first-party data.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SFMC.
  • SFMC certification(s) are preferred, but not required.
  • Exhibit a masterful understanding of SFMC data extension architecture, integration capabilities, and automation capabilities.
  • Proficient in AMPscript and HTML to drive personalized email content using Data Extensions.
  • Proficient in SQL to run queries against data stored in SFMC and adjust audience segments.
