Responsibilities

The Municipal Banking Administrative Assistant will support the Municipal Banking Officers and branch staff. This role will be responsible for all administrative duties associated with municipal deposit functions, assistance with selling and cross-selling of bank products, and may assist with the lending function and credit administration procedures.

The ideal candidate is experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and officer support related tasks and is able to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • Support Officers in daily activities:
    • Review & seek approval for overdrafts
    • Initiate client contact to resolve issues or satisfy needs including overdrafts, documentation exceptions, or loan payment delinquencies
    • Coordinate the opening of deposit accounts with appropriate branch
    • Maintain client files and contact lists on Shared Drive to ensure the most up to date information
    • Set priorities and organize time to meet deadlines
    • Assist in coordination of meetings and conferences
  • Actively support client team relationships:
    • Build solid rapport and create seamlessness between the Municipal Banking Officers, the Municipal Team, branch banking peers, and clients
    • Develop relationships via product support, assist with deposit product set-ups and cross-selling of products; ensure timely support of new client systems such as on-line banking and remote deposit capture (RDC) and involve Commercial Services partners when necessary
    • Assist clients/branches with ACH transactions and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) transactions
    • Complete Axiom pricing reviews for client relationships and relay to Municipal Banking Officers for approval
    • Complete banking proposals as directed by Officers and utilize professional printing services when needed. May be asked to deliver to clients from time to time
    • Manage the Officer's monthly conference schedule including registration, booth reservation, meals, and travel arrangements
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned from time to time, including support to all Branch Managers and Municipal Banking Officers when deemed necessary to support municipal banking clients
  • As an integral member of the Municipal Banking Team, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Team and the Bank in achieving their annual goals


Qualifications

  • The person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • An Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to comprehend and practice sound banking procedures and operations in a regulated environment
  • Aptitude and demonstrated proficiency in use of computer technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Competency in relevant banking platform systems- Xperience & Axiom preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Teamwork Skills
  • Strong analytical skill

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
