Description

The Trainer is responsible for delivering training for employees throughout Northwest, both in the classroom and online settings and consistently providing the best customer experience possible. This position helps to identify, recommend, and present new training courses and curriculums while assisting in the preparation of course / curriculum materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consistently provide the best customer experience possible
  • Provide support to staff in meeting customer expectations
  • Recommend improvements to procedures
  • Collect and share recommendations and feedback from training participants regarding training needs as applicable
  • Train employees as required both in the classroom and online settings
  • Assess employee performance in training and providing feedback to supervisors as appropriate
  • Assist in the identification, recommendation and presentation of new training curriculums, topics, courses and methods
  • Assist in ensuring that all course content is relevant and up to date
  • Responsible for training efforts in mergers, acquisitions and training project roll-outs
  • Assist in the preparation of course / curriculum materials as needed
  • Stay current on learning tools, trends, and ideas
  • Maximize operating efficiencies
  • Minimize operating expenses
  • Ensure compliance with third party vendors
  • Ensure accuracy of course materials
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisions
  • Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written
  • Ability to actively listen to what others are saying to achieve understanding, sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and information
  • Ability to establish courses of action for self to accomplish specific goals, develop and use tracking systems for monitoring own work progress, and effectively use resources such as time and information
  • Ability to make right decisions based on perceptive and analytical processes, practicing good judgment in gray areas.
  • Knowledge of training techniques and adult learning theory
  • Ability to motivate, be a team player, relate to staff at all levels and possess a dynamic personality
  • Possess a strong commitment to staff training and development and the ability to develop skill sets necessary for success

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Education, Teaching, or related subject preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years training experience preferred
  • 3 - 5 years customer service experience preferred
  • 3 - 5 years banking experience preferred
