Drivers Cannock Packing Centre **Senior Driver - Nights**

**Senior Drivers with practical experience if working in a Warehouse or Transport office is desirable**

We usually respond within **three days**

> Night Shift - 42 hours per week - 4 on 4 off****Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines as outlined above

The jobholder may be required to be complete the following tasks within the Distribution Department:

Maintain a respectful and constructive working relationship with colleagues and managers

Provide holiday and absence cover within transport operations.

Work with the Drivers, Warehouse Operatives and Shift Managers in respect of operational processes, financial accountability, customer feedback and liaison with other sites.

React to incidents and schedule / rearrange vehicles and drivers accordingly.

Plan vehicle movements using the TMS system in collaboration with transport planner or in their absence.

Ensure that all departmental movements are scheduled and planned whilst also ensuring availability of drivers and vehicles.

Maintaining data integrity for daily and weekly reports.

Brief / Debrief drivers to ensure all works are completed in full and in line with company policy. Escalate issues to shift managers as appropriate.

Interrogate Trutac, for the purpose of de-briefing drivers and escalate issues with compliance to the site O licence holder for action.

Administer defect reporting, Action and escalate defects reported for action by Line Managers.

Ensure that any out of hours vehicle defects are reported directly to the service providers ensure vehicle compliance at all times.

If required on occasions provide assistance within other areas of the business such as loading / unloading, Shunting and vehicle movements.

Other filing and admin duties to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Conduct random vehicle standards checks with drivers.

Conduct daily spot check of drivers completing first use vehicle checks.

Assist in the training of all drivers and completion of associated records.

Ensure that he/she is ready to commence work at the defined start-time and that ongoing issues are properly passed over to the oncoming administrator at the end of a shift.

Foster a constructive relationship with all departments and ensure lines of communication are open

Conduct any necessary training required for the role. The jobholder should be prepared to work in different areas of the department as required

Identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and suggest improvements to their Line Manager

Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability. Ensure work is completed to a high-standard, and all necessary documentation is completed. Report any concerns to their line manager.

The demands of the business may change in line with customer requirements and changes may be made to the above guidelines. The jobholder should be flexible to the changing demands of the business.

**Training and Education:**

* Practical experience if working in a Warehouse or Transport office is desirable.

* Good general level of Education Ideally GCSEs passes at grade C or higher in English and Maths as a minimum.

* Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

The jobholder may be expected to complete training in the following areas. The requirements will be dependent on the jobholders previous experience, knowledge, qualifications, and the demands of the specific activities.

* Health & Safety (Manual handling, DSE etc)

* Technical training (e.g. Navision, Trutac, Paragon, Databases, Excel, Word etc.)

**Physical demands:**

The role is desk based. The jobholder will be expected to assess his/her workstation, in line with the companys DSE policy. The jobholder should have a reasonable level of fitness and should report any conditions that may be aggravated by the required activities.
