Job Description
Hay Creek Hotels is seeking a passionate and training-focused Housekeeping Supervisor to join our opening team of hospitality professionals at the new Embers Hotel. Develop and lead a well-rounded, knowledgeable housekeeping and laundry team that delivers exceptional results for all guests.

Full-time position. Daytime hours.

$21 per hour.

Tucked in the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, The Embers Hotel will offer 36 guest rooms and suites with full-service restaurant and al fresco dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels, this new-build boutique location will embody a fireside retreat with 4-star service in an approachable, natural setting. The new resort is projected to open in early spring 2024.

Job Summary:
  • Supervise housekeeping/laundry personnel, assisting with hiring, training, administering performance reviews, determining wages, coaching and discipline, termination, and scheduling. Inspect all cleaned rooms by housekeeping staff, verify it is check-in ready. Communicate any discrepancies in room cleanliness to associates through constructive criticism and ongoing training.
  • Assist in the cleaning and inspecting of the property, with the ability to perform all duties required of housekeepers and laundry attendants.
  • Lead by example with professionalism and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Support management with anticipating scheduling needs, developing efficient and labor-effective schedules, and communicating to staff in a timely manner as required by hotel policy.
  • Keep a thorough inventory of all guest room needs, linen, rooms glassware, amenities, etc. Place product orders timely and manage housekeeping costs effectively through vendor relations and appropriate ordering.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible hours based on hotel needs.
  • Ability to prioritize rooms and delegate tasks based on guest arrivals.
  • Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including lobby, guest bathrooms, hallways, stairs, elevator, etc.
  • Address each and every guest using the S.E.A.C. method, with a smile, eye contact, acknowledge their presence in a timely manner with appropriate greeting, and kindly close.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible hours based on hotel needs.
  • Adhere to all Safety and Security policies and procedures outlined by the housekeeping department and the company.
