Aesthetician - Weekend Position

Skinkind is a little peaceful oasis on Newbury St in Back Bay.  Our team is fun and quirky and we are serious about skincare. We are looking for a primarily Saturday and Sunday Aesthetician but we could possibly expand the position to include Monday and Tuesday.  We offer a combination of relaxation and results driven facials, acne treatments, and chemical peels to our clients.

The right person must possess a thorough knowledge of the skin, have excellent facial and hand/arm massage technique, as well as skin extraction techniques, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific facial treatment offerings.

You must be an excellent communicator and have (or be willing to gain) knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

You will receive one on one “on the job” training. You will learn modalities such as: Hydrapurge, Hydra-brasion, Microdermabrasion, LED therapy, Ultrasonic, Microcurrent, Microneedling, and the Green Herbal Peel. You will learn advanced knowledge on the treatment of Acne. You will also learn about skin care product ingredients and overall product knowledge. You will learn what products work best for various skin types. If in the future, you choose to leave will have gained the skills to be a knowledgeable and reputable Aesthetician.

General Responsibilities

· Follow all skinkind facial protocols including timing, product quantity used in facial, order of facial steps, etc.

· All Aestheticians will be required to learn product knowledge and assist clients in advising clients which products to purchase for their skin needs & skin types.

· Learn which services to recommend for specific client needs and also to keep each client visit fresh and exciting. We expect our Esthies to stand behind all skinkind facial modalities and products. No steering away from modalities or products unless it’s a contraindication.

· Arrive 10 – 15 min prior to your shift in order to prepare your station and read your client history/notes

· Complete your service precisely on time to keep the day running smoothly.

· Complete Acne training videos within 60 days of hiring. This training is to be done as your schedule permits at the spa or your own time at home.

· Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa especially during spa guest parties. This may mean coming in to work a party when you have a day off.

· Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

· Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.

· Properly care for and maintain equipment.

· Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals as well as recommending treatment plans/suggestions to EVERY Client during each visit and explaining the benefit of the membership program based on your recommendations and the client’s goals.

· Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.

· Clean and restock stations as required at the end of every shift.

· Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

· Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.

· Assist with sweeping floors, dust shelves, arrange products, laundry, take out trash, mopping, cleaning mirrors as time and schedule allows.

· Possess ability to work without direct supervision.

· Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates

· Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

Education

· Must hold and maintain a current State license.

Experience

· Previous Aesthetics job experience is not required but is preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate.
