Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to all policies & procedures in relation to safety & health, personal protective equipment (PPE), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Determine priorities for cleaning either through directions provided by Supervisor or the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Routinely cleaning designated areas in the facilities such as restrooms, breakrooms, and offices.
  • Restocks supplies in the bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Routinely cleans & sanitize sinks, countertops, tables, microwaves, and break area refrigerators. 
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
  • Make sure janitorial closets are it in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Maintains floors and stairs in a clean state by vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping.
  • Routinely emptying and relining trash and recycling receptacles and sanitizing them when necessary.
  • Operates a floor sanitation device such as floor scrubbers when required.
  • Mixes & appropriately stores required chemicals in accordance with current procedures.
  • Ensure grounds areas are clean and orderly.
  • Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by Management.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required.
  • Previous custodial and grounds experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Able to work required shift hours 2:30pm-10:30pm with an alternating weekend overtime schedule.
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry, or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing required tasks.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs and work from heights.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess working knowledge of the methods, techniques, and materials used in custodial work.
  • Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Flexible to changes in working environment.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written (English)

Proficiency Level:

  • Possesses the beginning working knowledge of subject matter. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical-Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
  • Visual/Sensory-This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work environment- Work and environment are very repetitive.
  • Mental Stress- There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
